Bio
My name is Estefania Martinez, I am currently holding a role as a local health Epidemiologist. I have a Master's degree in Epidemiology from George Washington University. I am deeply committed to studying patterns of diseases and their determinants, with a particular focus on how these factors affect vulnerable populations. My goal is to bridge the gap between epidemiological research and practical public health interventions to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of our community. My interests are infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases, women’s health, rural health, and one health. Outside of my professional life, I am an avid outdoor enthusiast with a passion for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of our region. I find solace and inspiration in nature, which complements my work in epidemiology as it underscores the importance of a healthy environment in supporting community health. When not in the field or the office, you can often find me on the trails, camera in hand, capturing the stunning landscapes and wildlife that my local area has to offer.Project ideas
