Bio
With a PhD in Civil Engineering and significant experience as a Teaching Assistant and Head Teaching Assistant in the EPICS program at Purdue University, I bring a robust background in STEM education and mastery-based learning, alongside extensive experience in engaging students through service-learning projects. I have authored numerous academic papers focused on STEM education, including innovative curriculum development for engineering courses and educational labs. My dedication to enhancing STEM education and fostering new teaching methodologies is reflected in these publications. I was honored with the Best Teaching Student Award in 2018, highlighting my talent for inspiring and involving students in meaningful learning experiences. During my time at Purdue University, I played a key role in the EPICS program, where I worked with teams of students to design and implement projects that addressed real-world issues in human, community, and environmental settings. This role provided me with practical experience in creating active learning environments that foster academic growth and nurture problem-solving and teamwork skills. While at Purdue, I supervised over 500 students on diverse projects, ranging from constructing a greenhouse for Native Americans in South Dakota to developing smart city applications and creating sensory activities for elderly individuals with special needs. I also held leadership positions as the president of the Student Engineering Council and the Student Advisory Council, leading the organization to achieve the Outstanding Service Award. My leadership and organizational skills were further demonstrated as co-chair of several STEM conferences in 2020 and 2021. As a Teaching Assistant and Head Teaching Assistant, I have collaborated closely with faculty, students, and community partners to maintain a rigorous yet supportive learning environment. I have helped students with both their academic progress and their social and emotional development, and I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to join the team and contribute to the community.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Cluster Forecasting of ANYTHING in the World using R Studio
We are data miners, and based on millions of data points, publicly available, we would explore the relationships between those data points and how they affect each other. It can be as simple as finding the relationship between the number of patients with the flu and the month of the year (regression and time series analysis), or finding ways to fight food scarcity and food sovereignty for tribes in Africa using machine learning techniques!
