Bio

I was born and raised in Senegal where I got my Veterinary degree. Afterwards, I moved to France and did my Masters and Ph.D in Human pathology and infectious diseases at Aix Marseille university. Supervised by Prof. Didier Raoult I worked on the description of the human gut microbiota using the culturomics approach. My work focused on the optimization of culture conditions to isolate fastidious bacteria along with its characterization. After my Ph.D I moved to Laval university in Canada, where I worked as a Post-doctoral research fellow on the Microbiome-Endocannabinoidome Axis in Metabolic Health. I then moved to US for a second Post-doctoral research fellow at the Bioengineering departement Stanford university where I worked in the human microbiota field and chronic diseases. I am currently working in a biotech company developing solution for microbiome related disease for companion animal as a senior Director of Discovery.

Microbial life and ecosystems:

In this project we will review together what microbes and their impact on the humans, animals and environment life. Then, we will focus on analyzing the different microbial ecosystems to write a comprehensive review on: -Mapping the different microbes according to their ecosystem -Role of the human animal and Environmental microbiome in health and disease
