Lin Huiyin’s Unrecognized Contribution to Chinese Architecture

Abstract or project description
From Amber: My topic would be Lin Huiyin’s contribution to ancient Chinese architecture. I would focus on Lin’s investigation and record of over 2000 ancient architectures, and emphasize more about Lin's contribution as an ancient architecture historian/researcher. She and Liang found and investigated a lot of ancient architecture to promote people protecting and preserving them while also recording and analyzing them. I would talk about her research paper and essays that were published and some ancient architectures that she recorded. The analysis of one of her most important discoveries, Foguang Temple, and architectural elements would also be included. Lin’s investigation of ancient architecture is for not only inheriting history and culture, but also learning from the structure and incorporating them into modern architectures.
