Abstract or project description

Victoria is interested in marketing and nonprofit work. She will use this project to present viable marketing strategies well-suited for nonprofits to increase their community engagement by attracting teenagers. As part of this research, she will also illustrate how organizations in general use marketing to grow their base and also why teenagers are a target market (and how this might be problematic). In addition to her paper output, Victoria will learn how to approach research project, how to write a research paper, and how to submit to a peer-reviewed journal.

My project focuses on helping nonprofits boost their community engagement by targeting teenagers with effective social media marketing strategies. In this presentation, I'll explore ways nonprofits can attract and keep teenage supporters, looking at how successful organizations use marketing to grow their reach and impact. I'll discuss why teenagers are a key audience for nonprofits, as they represent the next generation of volunteers and advocates. Teenagers are highly active on social media platforms, making them an important demographic for nonprofits to connect with. Alongside these strategies, I'll share what I've learned about conducting research. This project aims to be a useful guide for nonprofits wanting to make a bigger impact and for anyone interested in the link between social media marketing and nonprofit work.
