How can a non-invasive diagnostic tool enable earlier detection of the possibility of atherosclerosis?

Started May 10, 2024

Abstract or project description

The goal is to create a non-invasive diagnostic tool (a website) to detect atherosclerosis at an earlier point in time. The website will detect atherosclerosis based on pulse rate and blood pressure, which can be used to mathematically calculate pulse pressure and median arterial pressure (MAP). An increase in these measures could possibly signal atherosclerosis because when the arteries are blocked, pressures in the arteries will increase. In addition to this, these values will also be used to create a Pressure-Volume Loop (a PV Loop) that can be analyzed further by a doctor to understand if there may be a possibility of atherosclerosis.
