Emerging Sports: The Changing Fan Landscape

Abstract or project description

The topic we will working on is a research paper around the different emerging sports and how they came to be. We will be double clicking in specifically around the power of the changing fan profile and how different techniques are being used in these leagues compared to the more traditional leagues. These tactics include docuseries, celebrity ownership, specific player marketing and others. We will be case studying Soccer more specifically Wrexham, MLS & NWSL, Formula 1, Pickleball and LIV Golf. To end the paper we will discuss the shortcomings of traditional sports leagues and how they are trying to fix it.
