Differential Effects Of Caffeine In Comparisons To Other Stimulants With Cautionary Settlements.

Started Nov. 12, 2024

Abstract or project description

By investigating the effects of caffeine on physical and cognitive performance across various age groups, the limits of human performance can be confronted and understood therefore leading to the physiological growth of humankind. The present paper compares caffeine to other stimulants, such as androgenic and anabolic steroids (AAS) and beta-alanine, and the pros and cons of such stimulants and establishes that caffeine exhibits a superior safety profile and efficacy. Moreover, the physiological and psychological effects of caffeine are generally maximized for increased performance output, noting that the optimal dosage is 3 to 6 mg/kg of body weight and that caffeine can augment endurance, muscle strength, and cognitive function. Next, the differential effects of caffeine on distinct age groups are explored to reveal that children and adolescents may be more susceptible to its adverse effects, whereas older adults may be more sensitive to its impacts on sleep and cardiovascular health. Caffeine is an encompassing energy source; however, optimizing dosing strategies and exploring alternative delivery methods needs to be studied further to maximize its potential.
