What are the economic & social factors in South India that will transform the retail market for almonds?

Started May 23, 2024

Abstract or project description

With one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, South India’s rapid social and economic changes are driving substantial growth in the almond retail market. Despite South India's significant contribution to India's overall economic growth, much of the current investment in marketing California-grown almonds is concentrated predominantly in North India. This research exhibits the major contributors behind the promising growth of almond consumption in this southern region, underscoring the enormous potential for a large South Indian consumer base. The findings of our research were acquired through two methods: online data collection from existing studies, and insights gathered from two surveys conducted as part of our study. By examining key factors like rising per capita income, increased consumer spending, and a significant shift towards health-conscious diets, this study uncovers the collective influences driving the growing market potential for almonds in South India. This exploration allows us to recognize the strategic advantages of investing in marketing efforts focused on the region’s almond retail market.
