About

Hi! My name is Stella Myers and my project focuses on creating a digital training model to enhance memory skills in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment. Enhancing Memory Skills in Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment: A Novel Digital Platform of the Face-Name Paradigm

Started June 7, 2024

Abstract or project description

More than 55 million people suffer from dementia worldwide with nearly 10 million new cases per year. Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment (aMCI) is the transitional period between normal aging memory decline, and more serious forms of dementia. I plan to develop a digital training platform that will be used to potentially treat and improve aMCI over time. I will test my platform by administering the face-name training task on a set of participants. This new approach aims to use digital technology to improve memory skills and quality of life for people with aMCI, potentially slowing the conversion from aMCI to dementia and other cognitive issues.
