The Role of Checkpoint Inhibitors as a Treatment for Cancer
Started Oct. 6, 2023
Abstract or project description
In this project, Siena will be working on a review paper discussing immunotherapy, and checkpoint blockade therapy, specifically the role of anti-PD1 checkpoint blockade therapy in cancer. Specifically, she will introduce the concept of immune checkpoint blockade and how it works. She will then discuss the types of cancers in which checkpoint blockade (anti-PD1) is effective or not effective. Finally, she will discuss the side effects of these checkpoint inhibitors, why these side effects may occur, and possible solutions researchers are finding to resolve the side effects. Then she will end with a conclusion. Siena has finished the outline and will move on to start writing.
