Potential Candidates for Dark Matter (Work in Progress)

Started Feb. 9, 2024

Abstract or project description

This project aims to discuss experimental data and theoretical findings over the course of the history of dark matter research to provide a in-depth but digestible review of the current state of the field. Compiling a variety of peer-reviewed sources from both recent and past studies, we aim to form a comprehensive account of the various challenges posed by the existence of dark matter and the attempts made to rectify these inconsistencies to conform with longstanding models and predictions of the universe. Some of the fields we intend to explore in this paper currently include quantum field theory, quantum chromodynamics, axion dark matter, modified Newtonian dynamics with respect to quantum mechanics, particle physics, and cosmology.
