This project aims to investigate the effectiveness of greenwashing—the practice of conveying a false impression or providing misleading information about how a company's products are more environmentally beneficial—across various demographics in the United States. By examining different age groups, income levels, education backgrounds, and geographic locations, the purpose of the paper is to determine how these factors influence consumers' susceptibility to greenwashing tactics. The project will utilize external surveys o gather data on consumer awareness and perception of greenwashed marketing. The findings will help in understanding the demographic variations in consumer behavior towards greenwashing and provide insights for policymakers and organizations aiming to promote genuine sustainability practices.
