About

Hi, I'm Sabrina Toor! I live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I am currently a senior at Rock Canyon High School. My favorite subject is science, and my favorite class I've taken in high school is AP Chemistry. During my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and taking care of my four dogs! In the future, I plan on pursuing a career in medicine! My project is a research paper on the use of immunotherapy as a potential treatment for cancer. I will start with an overview of cancer and the immune system. Then, I will discuss the specifics of CAR T-cell therapy as a treatment for leukemia and lymphoma patients. If these topics sound interesting to you, I would love to have you attend my conference on Saturday, September 18th! Please register to listen to my presentation using the link above!

Immunotherapy in Cancer Treatment

Started Apr. 16, 2021

Abstract or project description

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide each year. Recents advances in gene editing and precision medicine have created new approaches that aim to find a cure for this difficult to treat disease. One of these approaches involves modifying the immune system in order to better attack the cancer cells, a therapeutic strategy termed "immunotherapy." In this review, we summarize current advances and technologies in the field of immunotherapy. Our analysis discusses the effectiveness of immunotherapy across cancer types.
