What were the economic effects of the 2016 Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal on the sport of gymnastics, other sports, and parties involved in the incident.

Abstract or project description
This project looks at how this scandal ended up reducing the number of gymnastics participants after 2016, and enrollment of children in gymnastics never went back up to its pre-Nassar numbers. Also, it looks at possible spillover effects on other sports such as basketball, cheerleading, and dance. Lastly, it looks at economic effects on other parties involved such as Michigan State university and USA gymnastics. Along with this, I review the importance and context of this scandal. For example, that over 300 girls were victims of this man, and that this was the worst sexual abuse scandal ever to happen in sports.
