Abstract or project description

Saanvi has expressed interest in writing a research paper, specifically a literary review, about the risk factors underlying Alzheimer’s disease, a severe neurodegenerative disease that give rise to memory loss and dementia. While the cause and mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease is not well understood, considerable research suggests that Alzheimer’s is likely caused by a combination on age-related changes in the brain, along with genetic, environmental and behavioral factors. At this stage, Saanvi has considerable interests in focusing on the genetic factors and the cellular and molecular pathways and processes that are affected in Alzheimer’s disease. This includes researching the genes and their variants that have been implicated in Alzheimer’s disease. There is also interest in exploring the drugs and therapeutic treatments that are being developed to treat Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, there is interest in exploring the challenges and limitations that are barriers to producing effective treatments for Alzheimer’s disease to date.
