Started May 30, 2024
Abstract or project description
This paper analyzes the potential of virtual reality (VR) to improve balance, mobility, and function in patients who suffer from Parkinson’s Disease. While traditional methods of therapy are effective in improving life for patients, the usage of VR as a rehabilitation tool has proven to push past the limitations of physical therapy. This paper utilizes numerous reviews and clinical studies in order to compare improvements in balance, mobility, and function between traditional methods of rehabilitation and virtual reality rehabilitation. Our findings suggest that VR therapy is an improvement in Parkinson’s Disease rehabilitation. Studies have shown that virtual reality can be successfully integrated into traditional physical therapy, as well as replace it altogether.
