Evaluating Driver Response to Integrated Safety Monitoring Systems
Started June 4, 2024
Abstract or project description
Real-time integrated safety systems in vehicles are beginning to be implemented into people’s daily lives. It is now even more important to research how drivers perceive and react to such technologies. This study focuses on what drivers think about drunk driving detection systems. Driver attitude towards monitoring is determined through a survey that questions a driver about their feelings about being tracked. A survey will be sent and a target of 100 respondents. The data will then be analyzed to give a more comprehensive view of how such systems will perform when implemented. Many regulatory discussions will happen over the next decade, making this study even more important to ensure more educated and reasonable decision-making by legislative bodies toward public adoption of such systems. As innovation thrives in this sector, it is imperative to be able to back up these ideas with studies such as this one.
