Using Bioremediation in Industries and the Possible Implementation of AI

Abstract or project description
Bioremediation is a process where we utilize pollutants such as oils, solvents, and pesticides with the help of some microbes. It can be used in various areas that generate industrial and similar dirty waste. However, despite the aspects that show it to be a good alternative, today its usage rates are low compared to the traditional methods that are being applied. This research will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of applying bioremediation by taking the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone as the target area. The first aim of the study is to isolate Trichoderma fungi. Secondly, this research aims to demonstrate that bioremediation methods provide an environmentally friendly and economically competitive alternative to traditional remediation techniques and should be more widely applied to industrial waste worldwide.
In the research, firstly information about bioremediation and its application was given. Types of bioremediation were explained and various studies reflecting on the advantages/disadvantages of this method were mentioned. Afterwards, the laboratory experiment was demonstrated and the results were shown. Finally, the role that technology and artificial intelligence can play in this regard and the potential method update are mentioned.
