Lei Feng Pagoda: Translation of Chapter Six (by Nandini Shukla)

Abstract or project description
Nandini is working on translating a chapter of the Legend of White Snake (from the author Chengpei Fang). Because the original text is written in classic Chinese, it can be challenging even for a native Chinese speaker. Nandini needs to first understand some sentence structures and commonly used words/phrases in classic Chinese and then translate the chapter she chooses. This translation process involved the help of Mian, the Polygence mentor, and some translating tools like Pleco and Youdao. This would be a valuable project to take on, to both learn more about classic Chinese and also introduce it to other Chinese learners.
