Abstract or project description

Kunal is building a musical motif generator using techniques from machine learning. The user will be able to input a number of bars, genre, and tempo and the generator will return a midi sequence (and printed music output) of a motif (consists of rhythm and melody). Kunal will use machine learning and statistical analysis of existing songs from the Million Songs databse to derive likely sequences of pitches and rhythms. Musical information will be encoded and decoded via MIDI protocol.
