Detecting NBA players from images

Abstract or project description

Face detection is a growing field of image recognition research with applications ranging from security to biometrics. It is especially useful for the concept of “tagging” people in photos, which can make searching for said person more streamlined. In this project, the two problems that I am trying to solve are to create a network that detects one or more faces from an image and then trying to correctly label these faces if they are playing in the NBA. This project is both interesting and challenging because it involves detecting a single person from our database from images that often contain multiple people. To overcome this challenge, Ishaan will use neural networks with various convolutional architectures.
