Analyzing the failure modes of neural prosthesis

Abstract or project description

There are a variety of prosthesis on the market and perhaps some of the most complicated are neural prosthesis. Prosthesis such as deep brain stimulation and microelectrode arrays either modulate neural activity or record it so that a patient may improve its quality of live. In this review, we plan on investigating these types of neural prosthesis and looking at possible ways in which these devices can be improved. This can be done in a variety of ways, such as reading research papers and identifying their gaps of knowledge, which is understanding the parts of the topic which haven't been researched on/ explored yet.
