How does Kangtai Adult Daycare Center meet the needs of understanding advocacy in order to better serve immigrant communities and address underlying issues through promoting social equality and justice?

Started Apr. 3, 2024

Abstract or project description

During this program evaluation, I will be introducing how Asian immigrants are struggling because of the lack of advocacy for them. I will be looking at increase of Asian immigrants within the United States. They are starting to communicate their struggles and I will be addressing that within my introduction. They are being denied and lacking access to many services related to governmental services, employment services, basic needs, familial needs, and education. With this, I will also bring up their limitations to language since they are unfamiliar with English. After giving a brief overview of how advocacy should be made for Asian immigrant communities, I will be talking about my non-profit organization, Kangtai Adult Daycare Center. In Kangtai Adult Daycare Center, I give them a safe and loving space where they are able to practice their English, get access to services, and meet their basic needs. The overarching mission of this organization is to create a secure environment for Asian immigrants. At the moment, Kangtai Adult Daycare Center is always finding ways to implement advocacy for social equality and justice within the organization to better serve senior participants. Within this program evaluation, this study will assess the extent that Kangtai Adult Daycare Center–through promoting social equality and justice–meets the understanding of advocacy in order to better serve Asian immigrant communities and address underlying issues.

With the method, the questions that will be addressed are related to connections with other organizations and government agencies and to how classes and services within the organization help serve the seniors. As I find out these questions through surveys and interviews, I will be evaluating the extent to which Kangtai Adult Daycare Center helps with fulfilling these needs. In addition, the method will be focusing on if these services and classes help with creating advocacy for these Asian immigrants. The method will see if they have a voice within the community. In the end, the results will show the extend of how Kangtai Adult Daycare Center helps with supporting advocacy in order to better serve immigrant communities. As the program evaluation comes to a conclusion, Kangtai Adult Daycare Center will be able to see which areas they have to improve in order to help promote advocacy for Asian immigrant communities and address underlying issues through promoting social equality and justice. Hopefully, with the seniors input from the organization, the evaluation on the organization will be effective in finding future improvements on the foundation of not only the Asian immigrants, but also the organization itself.
