Abstract or project description
Gene editing is a new and upcoming technology used to alter the genome sequences of organisms. Due to its popularity, gene editing technologies come with many ethical debates, social norms, and beliefs that analyze their importance and usage. This research paper will explore the potential implementation of genetic engineering in the cosmetic industry through an analysis of professional opinions and past implementations. Genetic engineering has the potential to revolutionize the future of almost every industry and holds a very promising future, however, ethical concerns remain about the extent to which this technology should be utilized. Through a synthesis of numerous arguments, the risks and benefits of this up-and-coming technology in cosmetics will be evaluated.
