The Future of Huntington's Disease Treatments through Genetic Editing

Abstract or project description

For this project, I will be writing an article about the different ways that gene editing can be used to treat Huntington's Disease, a genetic neurodegenerative disease. I will be discussing some forms of gene editing that can be used to help treat this disease. The gene editing techniques that I will be discussing in this paper are TALEN, CRISPR-Cas9, RNA based treatments, base editing strategies, and ASO. I will be explaining factors of each of the editing techniques, such as how they are used, pros/cons, and use this information to discuss how the gene editing technique can help treat Huntington's Disease.
