How do different genres of music impact learning?

Started May 9, 2023

Abstract or project description

Music is a part of everyday life and has been found to serve many purposes,Including reducing stress or even aiding in studying. In music, there are many different genres to choose from in order to fit one's taste or mood. Music has also been found to impact learning and memory retention. Currently, there is an abundance of research that discusses the relation between music, learning, and memory; however, there is conflicting evidence about how helpful it may actually be, especially when it comes to passive listening while studying. In this review paper, I discuss the relationship between music, learning, and memory and investigate the role different genres of music may play. In addition, I discuss the amount of music that is considered optimal to see an impact.
