Project's result
Nature V Nurture is a topic in need of further research and study as there are too many factors at play. However, it is evident that both genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development of this disorder in their own ways.
They started it from zero. Are you ready to level up with us?
Summary
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is believed to arise from a complex interplay of genetic and environmental factors. Genetic predispositions, such as inherited traits of impulsivity and emotional dysregulation, can make individuals more vulnerable to developing BPD. However, environmental influences, particularly early-life trauma, neglect, or invalidating experiences, play a significant role in triggering and shaping the disorder’s manifestation. Research suggests that while genetics contribute to the susceptibility, the expression of BPD often depends on how these genetic factors interact with adverse environmental conditions. Thus, both nature and nurture are integral in understanding the development of BPD.
