Bio

I am passionate about combining my research background in neuroscience, particularly in neurodegeneration, with business acumen to help patients suffering from debilitating diseases and illnesses. My ultimate goal is to become the CEO of a pharmaceutical or biotech company that focuses on rare diseases, using my expertise to drive company growth and innovation. In addition to my professional pursuits, I have a keen interest in acting, improv, and public speaking. I enjoy communicating science to others to demonstrate the power of the scientific method. My hobbies also include chess, puzzles, and sports such as badminton, tennis, basketball, and golf.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Writing a Literature Review

A major component of scientific research and scholarship is the ability to gather information and communicate, via written form, major innovations within a particular field. In this project, you will utilize online resources such as PubMed.gov to find, summarize, and review scientific research articles to produce a review paper on a specific topic. Topics could range from "Mechanisms of Cancer Metastasis and Potential Therapeutic Targets" to "The Role of Protein Misfolding and Aggregation in Neurodegenerative Disorders." This project will teach you how to find, access, and critically analyze existing scientific literature and how to assemble primary literature into a scientific review. You will gain skills in scientific writing and editing, critical thinking and brainstorming, as well as an in-depth knowledge of your chosen research topic.

Designing a Business Pitch for Seed Funding

Are you passionate about transforming the world with your business idea? Curious about the journey from concept to securing seed funding?
