Bio
Hi, my name is Lindsey, and I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing a Master of Science in Financial Technology and Analytics. I previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, along with certificates in Elements of Computing and Scientific Computation and Data Sciences. When considering a career, I wanted to combine my love of mathematics and programming with my interest in the financial sector, which led me toward financial analysis. My areas of interest include applied mathematics, statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outside, trying new restaurants and volunteering at the animal shelter.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Predicting Longevity: Analyzing Blue Zones for Health Insights
Blue Zones are areas of the world where people tend to live longer than average and have lower rates of chronic disease. In this project, a student could analyze the factors contributing to the longevity and well-being of populations in Blue Zones. Moreover, they could develop a predictive model for identifying potential Blue Zones based on various demographic, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
