Bio
Hi Everyone, My name is Ashley Whipple and I am a recent MPH graduate from George Washington University, The Milken Institute School of Public Health. I have a background in Biology and Marine Science but I found a passion for public health after studying abroad in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa. This brought me to my MPH where I studied Environmental Health, Global Health, Epidemiology, and Disease Prevention. My focus is centered on the effects of climate change on vulnerable populations and the intervention strategies we implement to help mitigate these adversities. In my spare time, I enjoy sitting down with a good book or watching the next big Netflix installment. K-Dramas and BTS are my guilty pleasure. I'm also an avid swimmer and used to coach for about a year. My interest in mentoring stems from the desire to help teach and inspire the next generation. I love hearing about the passions and interests that motivate people to help change the world. Being a part of fostering their dreams is a rewarding experience and what mentoring is all about!Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Cholera Surveillance and Monitoring in Yemen
Looking at the current Cholera outbreaks in Yemen due to flooding. This relates to Climate Change and can be a good literature analysis project.

I previously mentored students looking to advance their personal and academic careers through study abroad. I was a mentor for this program for a little over a year when I came back from my semester abroad. I also was an Education Intern at Nauticus, a Naval and Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach. I tutored biology students while a senior during my undergrad as well.Credentials
