Bio

My name is Rahee Patel and I am currently a second-year student at Emory University, studying for my Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree! I graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's in movement science and a minor in entrepreneurship. I have a plethora of teaching experience, beginning with teaching K-12 level math and English. At the University of Michigan, I was a teaching assistant for a public speaking course, a musculoskeletal anatomy lab, and a project-based entrepreneurship course. Academically, my interests are centered around athletic, pediatric, and neurological physical therapy. My overall goal is to own a physical therapy institution that incorporates innovative solutions to a specific population of patients, where individuals are able to reach their therapeutic goals through salient tasks. Outside of school, I enjoy playing soccer, finding delicious restaurants, hiking, and playing video games!

Project ideas

Teaching experience

Starting at the age of 13, I assisted in my family's accelerated math and English tutoring business. My roles progressed from assisting the educators in classes and teaching private lessons for elementary school students to running my own classes and private lessons for high schoolers. In my undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, I was a teaching assistant for three courses: The first was a public speaking course for freshman interested in sports management in which I developed interactive exercises to augment course material. The following year, I assistant taught a musculoskeletal lab providing direct instruction and review guides. In my senior year, I co-taught an entrepreneurship course where I assisted students on a self-guided project to promote a reduction in single-use plastics via social media.
