Bio
Dedicated to the field of physical therapy, I am passionate about addressing the unique challenges faced by the adult orthopedics and geriatrics population. I develop specialized interventions for individuals with range of motion restrictions, strength deficits, and balance impairments. Through practical application and understanding in scientific research, my goal is to enhance their quality of life, foster independence in their daily activities, and promote holistic well-being. Beyond the realm of work and academics, I enjoy playing badminton and practicing Pilates/yoga, as well as dancing Salsa/Bachata. I also have a huge love for adventures, including hiking and savoring delicious cuisines around the world.Project ideas
Creating an exercise intervention or treatment plan
In this project, you will create a prescribed exercise treatment plan for a "patient" who has a diagnosis that is appropriate for physical therapy or rehabilitation. The patient and/or the diagnosis is completely your choice! For example, the "patient" could be a family member who has knee osteoarthritis, a friend who just sprained their ankle, or even for yourself. This person can also be completely made up -- you can pick any diagnosis and body part that interests you. This project will be evidenced based, meaning you will have the opportunity to do research on the type of injury and establish the correct dosage (i.e. intensity, volume, duration) for each exercise that you choose. You will also gain an in-depth knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology behind the research topic.
