Bio
Hello! My name is Sierra Love and I am a PhD candidate in the Genetics Training Program at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. I study pre-mRNA splicing and how it can relate to disease. Outside of lab, I enjoy hanging with friends doing outdoor activities such as ice-skating, rollerblading, swimming, nature walks, paddle boarding etc.I love just vibing out and listening to music. My favorite genre is RnB. I have a passion for biology and teaching and would love to mentor students in those areas.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Understanding the Central Dogma: From DNA to Organisms
This project will allow you to dive into the intricacies of how your genes make up who you are. The focus of this project is to gain an understanding of the basics of cellular biology. In the end you will be able to write a short research article on the things you've learned about the Central Dogma.
