Bio

My name is Brandon Galang and I live in New York City. I’m currently an Associate Director, Product Manager at Wonder, a food tech startup. I studied Industrial Engineering at UW and business at the Yale School of Management. I've worked in tech for years, from AI/machine learning/causal inference at Amazon and NFT fractionalization and Metaverse gaming at Tessera and Fast Break Labs. In my spare time, I enjoy shooting portrait photography and pursuing mentoring/teaching opportunities. As a first-generation college student, I enjoy mentoring as it gives me the opportunity to pay it forward and share the knowledge and experiences I was lucky to receive.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Creating Business Models with NFTs

NFTs enable true digital ownership of assets in digital worlds. However, NFTs have unique properties that make traditional business models difficult and enable capabilities that are not obvious at first glance. Explore the current application of NFTs (digital identity, metaverse, gaming, etc) and how they can be used in future use cases.

Metaverse Product Market Fit

The metaverse is a hot topic in tech culture, but what exactly is it? The metaverse encompasses many different tech stacks from virtual reality, augmented reality, and web3/blockchain/NFT architecture. Explore the metaverse landscape and breakdown how traditional businesses can expand their business to sell new types of products in the Metaverse.

Impact of LLMs on enterprise data and processes.

The advent of LLMs such as chatGPT and ClaudeAI create massive opportunities to replace data synthesis processes in common business activities. Rather than rely on people to apply business knowledge and organizational context, AI systems are increasingly able to take in a wide context of data beyond the capabilities and narrow scope of reinforcement learning technologies to improve the flow of information.

Teaching experience

In undergrad, I was a Summer Orientation Leader for incoming freshman and helped run the primary two-day orientation program. At Epic Systems, I taught a mandatory four hour training in Lean Six Sigma. At Yale, I do significant outreach to prospective students for essay and resume help with their MBA applications and was curriculum lead for the Tech club, teaching our five week Product Management crash course for 1st year MBA students.
