Bio
Hi! I have a Master's Degree in Data Science from Vanderbilt University, where I also received my Bachelor's degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology. I am also working full-time as an analyst in the tech industry. My work experience is deeply rooted in customer and product analytics. While analytics is a technical field, I find that it is also a very creative field, because as an analyst, I get to choose the story I want to tell with the information I have found through data analyses. I was born in Hong Kong, but grew up in Chicago, IL. I have also lived in Nashville, TN and New York, NY, and I currently live in Los Angeles, CA. In my free time, I enjoy reading mystery books and listening to true crime podcasts. On the weekends, you can most likely catch me at a workout class. I love trying new foods, but I am a terrible cook. As a mentor, I am excited to share my experience with you and to support you in any way that I can.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
What are YOU interested in?
We ask ourselves questions all the time. What do all the billionaires in the world have in common? What is the most popular travel destination in 2020 given that travel was limited? These questions can all be answered using data. There are many datasets on open-source sites such as Kaggle. You should find a dataset of interest and perform exploratory data analysis to find meaningful insights to teach your audience something new! You will be able to learn how to mine data, create new features, perform statistical tests, and create a presentation to explain your findings.
