Bio

Hi! I’m Jared. I study diversity and inclusion work, emotion regulation, and contentious worker orientations toward work and employees. I love to apply various methods in my research questions and projects, and enjoy mentoring others in whatever topics they pursue. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano and traveling. I also love to try new foods and find new areas of the city I live in to walk around in.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

New forms of emotion regulation at work

In this project, you would write a short review of the literature on emotion regulation - or how we start, change or stop our emotions - and emotion regulation in organizations. As part of this, you would theorize and give rationale describing forms of emotion regulation that are newer or less studied in the literature, and hypothesize their relationship to other work-related variables.
