Bio
My academic passions revolve around bridging the social sciences and the 'hard' sciences, and translating the work we do in science beyond the lab - this can be transformed into public policy or public health initiatives, human centered design focused social or healthcare interventions, and so much more. My personal passions revolve around the arts - there isn't a tv show, movie, genre of music, type of recipe, or artistic medium I haven't tried! I love to be creative, spend time exploring, and hanging out with my cats.Project ideas
What impacts does music have on the brain, behavior, and emotion?
Music, whether passively listening, or playing an instrument, has clear implications for learning, skill development, memory, and emotion. What are the neural underpinnings of music on the brain? What are therapeutic interventions for, say, neurodegenerative disorders such as ALS or Alzheimer's?
Integrating Neuroethics and Public Policy
The more we understand about the brain and human behavior, the more we need to amend and adjust laws and policies that may do more harm than good. What are some current advances in neuroethics that can directly alter current laws and policies in play? What adjustments do we have to make for our laws or how we understand crime?
