Bio
Hello Hello! I'm Cheyenne! My main focus is cancer research: finding ways to better understand, detect, image, and treat cancer. More specifically, I've done a lot of work in the field of immuno oncology. But really I have an interest in anything that involves cool science and allows me to potentially make someone's life a little easier! For fun I enjoy watching anime, reading, painting, ice skating and rock climbing! Just recently I've been getting more into video games too. I'm also a huge foodie and frogs are my favorite animal!Project ideas
The Role of Immunofluorescence in Cancer Research
Learn the history and current uses of immunofluorescence in cancer detection, diagnosis, and the development of treatments. Explore the limitations and benefits of immunofluorescence in comparison to other methods, and share your findings in the format of an article, scientific review, or presentation.
Cancer Pharmacology: A comparison
Choose a cancer type (or other disease) to focus on, and select 2-3 drugs that are currently available or are in development for comparison. Learn about their mechanisms, targeted biological pathways, drug class, dosages, benefits and limitations. Provide a comprehensive review in the format of an article, scientific paper, presentation, or other media form.
Biomedical Device Design: Orthotics
Have an idea for a device you think might solve modern problems in medicine? Or maybe you see a solution to limitations in the devices we use every day. Learn how to identify design criteria, draft design blueprints, determine product relevance, perform patent searches, choose raw materials, and determine product relevance. Develop a product pitch and create a prototype!
Bioluminescence in Medicine
Bioluminescence is being used to monitor brain activity and the progression of cancer cells. Explore the future of bioluminescence imaging in the field of medicine and provide a history of its discovery, as well as its potential. Share your findings in an article, scientific review, or presentation.
Bioinspiration: Do animals hold the answers?
Can the toxins frogs produce help us fight antibiotic resistant bacteria strains? How can understanding how lizards and newts regrow their limbs help us improve wound treatment? Why do tilapia skins help with burns? Discover the role of animals in the development of modern medicine as well as its potential. Share your findings in a research proposal, article, or presentation.
