Bio
Hi! My name is Advaitha and I graduated from Duke University in 2021 with a double major in Biomedical and Electrical & Computer Engineering, along with a certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Academically I have strong interests in medical research, digital health, and engineering product development. I am really interested in many interdisciplinary fields, especially involving healthcare and life sciences applications. Outside of academics, I also have an interest in documentary studies and the use of various media to convey stories. I have experience as the Travel & Culture lead for the lifestyle magazine during undergrad and have written many articles, generated creative pieces, and provided photograph visuals. I also completed a documentary studies project on a local Afghanese family through the use of photography, writing, and video.Project ideas
Documentary Studies Research
I have a strong background in helping develop ideas for and executing a documentary studies project. Whether it involves narrative writings, audio, or photography as the main platform, I can help guide you to bring your area of focus into a tangible project. After identifying a focus topic and scope (ex: writing, media, length of project, timeline, etc.) I will work with you to generate a capstone project that can then be published or displayed in various mediums. I will be providing progressive feedback and will help you hone in on your narrative story telling skills, regardless of your previous exposure to documentary studies. The topics can range from exploring overarching cultural/research topics to case studies in your community.
