Ethics of naturally derived hallucinogens in treating psychological disorders
Effective treatments for psychological and neurological disorders are an understudied frontier. Naturally derived hallucinogens such as psilocybin and LSD are gaining traction in scientific research as potentially promising ways to treat psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and even dementia. This project would be to research the current ongoing research and clinical trials in the US or worldwide and to discuss hurdles, ethics, and feasibility of these compounds as potential therapeutics.
Current landscape on induced pluripotent stem cells and applications in neurological disease research and therapies
This project would be a review paper on the current landscape on induced pluripotent stem cells and the potential applications in neurological disease research and therapies. It would involve research on the top biotech companies with open projects utilizing iPSC technology and comparing and contrasting the methodologies. The final component would be to analyze progress on disease indications.
