Bio
Hello, I am Hamilton Green a 5th year PhD candidate currently attending Vanderbilt University. My academic interest are heavily in the field of microbiology more specifically bacteriology. I love to investigate the different phenotypic characteristics bacteria possess in order to establish infection. The world of bacteria is extremely fascinating and play important role in our everyday lives. My current interests include working out, meditating and reading books in my spare time. I am a huge basketball fan and support the Memphis Grizzlies!Project ideas
Examining the bacterial profile of various households
As of recent bacterial microbiomes have been a huge and interesting topic in the field of bacteriology as they play an important role in human health. I am course to understand how skin microbiome can differ from individuals of different households. This project will require making different bacterial media that can be made at home selecting for various microorganisms.
Evaluating the effectiveness of homemade bacterial multi surface disinfecting agents
Disinfecting agents are beneficial in keeping a clean and sterile environment. However many industrial disinfecting agents contain harmful chemicals that are harmful via continuous exposure. I am interested in investigating the lethality of home remedy bacterial disinfecting against bacterial pathogens. We will compare these remedies to commonly sold industrial reagents.
