Bio
Hello! My name is Haille and I'm in my 3rd year of the MD/PhD program at Dartmouth. This means that I have completed my first two years of medical school and am currently getting my PhD in molecular and cellular biology, where my research is focused on helping to make radiation for cancer treatment less toxic to the brain in kids. Aside from school, I love mountain biking, snowboarding and really anything that involves getting outside and I have a Great Pyrenees pup named Zoose.Project ideas

The Effects of Mountain Biking on Physical and Mental Health in Vermont
It is well known that physical activity and sports are good for your mind, body and overall health. However, the specific effects of downhill mountain biking compared to other less dangerous activities like running or yoga are unstudied. Does the risk of injury in a dangerous sport outweigh the physical and mental benefits? For you to find out!
Teaching experience
In the academic setting, I have been a teaching assistant all throughout college, have tutored math to high schoolers, and taken on undergraduates to teach them basic science while working in my lab each summer. In the non-academic setting, I have taught mountain biking to people with disabilities, was a running coach with "Girls on the Run" program, and have taught snowboarding lessons. I absolutely love teaching/mentoring and plan to continue to do these types of things for the rest of my career. I have also been tutored frequently in the past for things like the MCAT, the medical licensing exam Step 1 etc., and have had amazing mentors guide me so far in my career.Credentials
