Bio
My training as a clinical psychologist is unique to other areas of psychology because I get to focus on a specific area of academic study for my research while also learning and applying a wide range of clinical interventions and diagnostics approaches in my applied clinical services. I love how my hands-on experiences providing care to children, teens, and families help me think creatively about how to interpret the research literature and formulate research questions. My research has focused on parenting and parent-child relationships, particularly for young children with disruptive behavior problems and/or ADHD. Some of my work has examined how parent characteristics, like self-regulation, contribute to the way they respond to their children in challenging situations. Parent-child interactions are complicated to study, so my work has contributed to innovations in the way we measure parenting behaviors. In addition, my applied clinical training and interests include Autism Spectrum Disorders, mood disorders, and suicidality. In my free time, I like to explore NYC and upstate New York with family and friends and walk my dog. I was a varsity rower in college, but now I mostly like to run or bike whenever I can. I'm an amateur calligrapher and extra-amateur at painting. My favorite TV shows are Succession, How I Met Your Mother, and Game of Thrones. Over the past few years, I have gotten very into fantasy series like A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, and now just starting Tolkien/Lord of the Rings.Project ideas

Research paper on emotional and social characteristics of ADHD
Learn about the challenges with emotion regulation, mood, and social difficulties for people with ADHD across the lifespan. How do relationships with peers, teachers, and family members contribute to mood, self-esteem, and achievement? This is a side of ADHD that is so important but does not get much attention in the general public. This could also be a YouTube video or podcast episode.
