Bio
My three main passions include drug and medical device safety, health advocacy, and children's health. Through epidemiology research and data analysis, I synthesize and communicate meaningful results to a lay audience. Academically, I also love continual exposure to a large breadth of public health issues to broaden my perspective. In my free time, I sing and play the guitar. During football season, you will find me watching every NFL game I have the time to watch. I also love exploring New York City by watching Broadway shows, trying new restaurants, and walking around the many parks.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Intersection of Depression and Diabetes
Students would use publicly available data to assess the prevalence of depression medication use stratified by chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
FDA Recalls of Birth Control Devices
In this project, students would comb through recalls relating to birth control devices, such as IUDs, to analyze trends and patterns. FDA approval and recall information is readily available on their website. This project could be applied to a wide range of medical devices and prescription medications.
