Bio
Hi! My name is Nick and I've just recently graduated from the University of Michigan. I'm really passionate about what we (as everyday people) can do with the power of computer science. Whether it's building the next revolutionary mobile app, creating a responsive natural language processing AI, or training a machine learning model to help diagnose diseases, the possibilities are endless. And the best part is... all that we need to do these things is a computer and some patience! I've had the privilege to work on a variety of projects and for a variety of companies since I started my studies 4 years ago. I'm excited to share this knowledge with the next wave of students, hopefully including you! Outside of academic and professional pursuits, I love following and playing basketball and soccer, all sorts of board games, and watching TV shows. Most recently I've started watching a Chinese drama with my parents that has been surprisingly entertaining! Most of all, I love meeting new people and making new friends.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Disease Prediction with Machine Learning
Train machine learning models to diagnose diseases based on a set of symptoms from a patient
Image Classification with Computer Vision
Learn to classify images with machine learning and computer vision!
Coding skills
Python, Matlab, C++, Javascript, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaTeaching experience
I worked as a student instructor for 3 years in college, teaching courses on Machine Learning, Data Science, Python, C++ and Matlab. I also founded and taught students introductory programming at a Robotics summer camp. One of my favorite things to do has been to chat with younger students 1:1 to help them figure out their academic endeavors and assist with their future planning.Credentials
