Bio
Hi there! I'm Charles - a recent UC Berkeley alum. I've worked extensively on building artificial intelligence models for various scientific fields. My past academic work has included disciplines like mechanical engineering, 3d printing, optics simulations, and more! Recently, I've been doing a lot of work on tech policy and regulations, which is something I'd also be excited to mentor about! In my free time, I enjoy reading (one of the oldest ways to travel to different times and places) and jogging. Also picked up spikeball recently!Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Unravelling Recurrent Neural Networks
Discover the power of neural networks for untangling complex data hidden in time series data! Prototype simple neural networks for a variety of time series datasets and visualize the "guts" of the model to better understand how these models work.
Exploring privacy in tech policy
Research how privacy is constructed in different industries. Understand how to legally define a "social media company" and how advertising technology works. Propose a new form of regulation for data and privacy
Open Data Analysis and Visualization
Create a website that takes census housing data and provides easy-to-use visualization.
