Bio
I am an entrepreneur who has had stops in investment banking, business operations and product management. I started in New York as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs, where I built foundational skills in complex financial modeling and presenting business analysis. I then joined AppDirect, a software startup in San Francisco, during its hyper growth phase -- the company has now raised over $400 million. I began in business operations, working on many projects directly for the founders, and later worked in product management. I now consult other early stage startups and am an active angel investor. For fun, I love adventures (from scuba diving to flying stunt planes) and eating (I've been to the July 4th Coney Island Hot Dog Eating Contest 7 times!)Project ideas
Storyboard an App
In this project, you will build a storyboard for your own web or smartphone app. This will be a simulation for what product managers do at leading technology firms. Together, we will identify a market opportunity, conduct user research to validate pain points, identify user stories and then develop a story board based on user experience and user design principles. This project can be further tailored to be more technical to liaise with software developers who will build the app.
Investment Pitch (can be tailored to investment banking or venture capital)
In this project, you will pick a company that you admire and analyze its valuation to assess whether it would make a good investment. We will analyze the business model, addressable market, valuation (intrinsic and extrinsic) and craft the investment pitch highlights. We can tailor the project toward startups pitching to venture capital or established companies pitching to investment banks / private equity / hedge funds.
