Bio
Ricardo grew up in LA County California and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at UC Santa Barbara, where he served as a learning assistant for undergraduates, a teaching assistant at Santa Barbara high school, a lead chemist in the Gaulin research group, and even wrote a book on Chicano culture. After graduating, he moved to Boston to begin a teaching career with Teach For America at Boston Collegiate Charter School, serving as the lead chemistry teacher. While earning his teaching license, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Boston University. Currently, he is attaining a Master of Science degree in Food Nutrition Policy and Programs at Tufts University. He is also developing mentorship programs, teaching cooking, and researching obesity prevention strategies. He loves working with people and coming up with fun projects. In his free time, Ricardo enjoys reading, writing, practicing martial arts, hiking, playing bass, cooking, and volunteering at various nonprofits in Boston.Project ideas

Health in my City
