Bio

I am passionate about exploring and teaching a wide range of topics, from artificial intelligence and data science to robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. With a background in computer engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechatronics, I love tackling challenges that span software, electrical, and mechanical design. Whether it’s low-level programming like assembly or creating smart products, I enjoy being a generalist who thrives on learning and pushing boundaries to design innovative solutions. Outside of academics, I am an avid soccer fan who enjoys both playing and watching the sport. I also love playing guitar, hiking, and discovering new trails. Reading and constantly learning new skills keep me inspired and engaged. A fun fact about me is that I share a birthday with my mom, which has always made celebrating that day extra special! Whether it's diving into a new book or exploring a creative hobby, I’m always looking for ways to expand my horizons and stay curious about the world.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Analyzing Soccer Team Performance Using Machine Learning

In this project, we will explore how data science and machine learning can be used to analyze and predict soccer team performance. You will gain hands-on experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and machine learning algorithms while diving into one of the world's most popular sports. Using publicly available datasets, such as player statistics, team performance metrics, and match outcomes, we will analyze patterns that contribute to a team's success. Together, we will clean and process the data, explore trends, and build predictive models to forecast match results or a team's likelihood of winning based on their performance metrics. By the end of the project, you will create a research report or a visual presentation highlighting your findings and predictions. This project is perfect for students passionate about sports and curious about how AI can transform sports analytics.

Coding skills

Python, TensorFlow, Keras, numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, MATLAB, embedded C, C++.

Teaching experience

Please describe your prior teaching experience in a few sentences: I have over a year of experience mentoring students in advanced AI and machine learning projects, including both structured programs and independent research initiatives. My teaching spans nearly a decade, with over 1,000 hours of 1-on-1 tutoring in technical subjects such as computer science, mathematics, and engineering, working with high school and college students. I focus on fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and technical skills, helping students achieve their academic and personal goals through hands-on guidance and personalized instruction.
